My packing list for the Camino Frances in winter: https://lighterpack.com/r/rqov68

General advice for your pack is for it to be 10% of your body weight, with an upper limit of 10kg. I weigh around 65kg. With a base weight of ~4.5kg + 1.5kg of water, my pack weight should do nicely.

Furthermore, airlines nowadays typically restrict to a 7kg carry-on, so doing my best to keep within that is good practice.

I’ve decided to pick up trekking poles at Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port instead of bringing it from home, to avoid checking-in any bags on both international and domestic flights.

To meet a low pack weight, I try to follow ultralight practices, although my pack list is not fully dialled in yet due to budget. In this respect, Decathlon has been an amazing source of affordable equipment. LighterPack is a great tool to tabulate your pack weight and suss out what you can cut.
